Hi, I'm Manika!
I grew up in India, where hair oiling was a familiar part of everyday life. It wasn't something people talked about as a beauty or wellness trend- it was simply what many of us grew up with.
Some of my earliest memories are of sitting on the floor while my mom gently massaged warm oil into my hair, reminding me to leave it in a little longer and insisting that good things take time.
Years later, after moving to Canada, I found myself returning to those same rituals.
Over time, I began blending oils with whole herbs and other traditional ingredients, creating something that felt true to the practices I grew up with. What surprised me most was how much I loved the process- the patience it requires, the care behind it, and the many small details that come together to create each batch.
What began as a personal ritual soon became something I loved sharing.
There was always a jar being made for a friend, a family member, or someone who had heard about it through word of mouth. I genuinely couldn't stop making and sharing it. The truth is, I never really needed an excuse to make another batch.
That's when Rooted Ritual Hair Oil was born.
Today, every jar is still handcrafted in Calgary, Alberta, in small batches using the same slow infusion process that first made me fall in love with creating it.
